BOXING.

Whether it was Ronald Reagan taking over the Presidencey, the Movie "ET" the Extra-terrestrial, or the collapse of the Soviet Union, the 1980's were indeed exciting. That decade also brought boxing fans many great fights that left them on the edge of their seats. It was a time when names like Larry Holmes "The Easton Assassin,"  Thomas "Hitman" Hearns, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, Aaron "The Hawk" Pryor and Michael ''Dynamite" Dokes were were becoming popular  in the boxing world. It was also a time when boxing went from network television to cable and long before the internet fans followed boxing news through magazines. It may have been an era since gone by,  but for fans of the pugilistic drama it was indeed action packed. A decade not only great for appreciative boxing fans to experience first hand, but just as good to look back and reflect on.

My book, " Professional Boxing in the 1980's,  A Look Back,"  is pictured above and does just that.  It offers and in depth review of the great time frame in boxing.  Each year in that decade  is discussed with all the great fights and prominent boxing news.  If you were a boxing fan in the 1980's, it is a must read. It brings 1980's boxing right back to life.  The book has 126 pages.

I also sell two other boxing books.  One is called, "Professional Boxing's Palookas, Tomato Cans and Opponents.  An Inside Look. "  In it  I explore the careers of seven fighters including  Oklahoma's Bruce "The Mouse" Strauss, Jordan Keepers, Nathaniel Fitch  and  Ohio's Jesse Clark. The book goes into  great detail about the careers of these fighters.  It offers rare insight into what the careers of these fighters consist of.   Some if the issues expored are; were they ever real contenders? Do they take dives and fight under different aliases to avoid state commissions?  How do they contribute to the sport and what credit do they deserve?  This book  offers a glimpse inside some of the  unique  or "murky" elements of professional boxing. It is good  and informative reading for any boxing fan.

The other book is called, "Professional Boxing.  An Inside Review of Major Bouts."  In this book I explore seven  major bouts included of which is Muhammad Ali vs Sonny  Liston II , Andrew Golata vs Riddick Bowe I and II and Roberto Duran vs Davey Moore.    The impact the bouts had on the fighters themselves and professional boxing is revealed.  For example, "What really did happen at Ali vs Liston II, was Liston really knocked out."   Did the Golata bouts for Riddick  Bowe really spell the end of his career?  Could Roberto Duran revive his career with a victory over Davey Moore?  These questions are explored and answered in this informative book.  For addittional information on this book access url: http://pat23185.tripod.com/boxing/      Both books are excellent reading for all boxing fans.   Each is $12.00.
